About our Academy

Ormiston Queensmill Academy is a well-established autism specific school. Although we acknowledge the complex needs which are associated with autism, we celebrate our pupils’ differences and uniqueness and we put our children and young people at the centre of our practice.

Staff at OQA are highly trained in autism and we commit a significant proportion of our annual budget to training and maintaining staff knowledge and resources so that children and young people with autism can learn in an environment that understands and is suited to them.

In addition to its Shepherd's Bush site , OQA operates two satellite provisions within mainstream schools across Hammersmith and Fulham. Sullivan, which opened in September 2025, caters for EYFS and Key Stage 1 pupils. Q4 which opened in 2013, located within Fulham Cross Academy, supports secondary-aged pupils who may be able to access some mainstream lessons alongside their specialist provision.

Across all settings, we offer a tailored and ambitious curriculum, enriched by a wide range of opportunities and autism-specific support, ensuring that each pupil's needs are met holistically. We foster autonomy, self-awareness and a strong sense of belonging, enabling our pupils to develop independence, purpose and meaningful connections within their communities.
