Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a Design & Technology Technician for an outstanding secondary school in Haringey. You will work closely with staff to ensure practical lessons are well prepared and students have access to equipment and resources.

This hands-on role offers variety, including setting up workshops, maintaining tools, and supporting teachers while ensuring safety in a busy DT department. The position starts in October 2026 on a permanent, full-time basis.

Job description

Do you enjoy working with tools, materials and practical projects? An Outstanding secondary school in Haringey is seeking a Design & Technology Technician to become an important part of its department this October.

You’ll work closely with teaching staff to make sure practical lessons are properly prepared and students have access to the equipment and resources they need. The role offers plenty of variety and would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on.

The Person

We’re looking for someone practical, dependable and confident around workshop equipment. Previous DT, workshop, engineering, construction or technical experience would be useful.

You should have excellent attention to detail and understand the importance of maintaining a safe environment when working with machinery and tools. School experience is desirable but not essential.
