The Role

We’re looking for an organised and proactive Design Technology Technician to support a Good‑rated secondary school in Wolverhampton from November 2025. This full‑time sickness cover role involves providing technical assistance across Food Technology, Art, and Textiles, ensuring that practical lessons run smoothly and safely.

You’ll prepare materials, set up and maintain equipment, and assist teaching staff during practical sessions. A good understanding of classroom safety procedures and a hands‑on, solution‑focused approach will be essential.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a reliable and skilled technician with a background in Design Technology or a related field. You should be:

  • Experienced in supporting DT, Food, or Art lessons at KS3–KS4 level
  • Knowledgeable about H&S and Food Hygiene procedures (certified)
  • Practical, organised, and detail‑oriented
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team
  • Committed to maintaining a safe and creative learning environment
