Job summary

Academics is seeking a Design Technology Technician to join a busy department in the London borough of Merton. You will assist in setting up equipment, preparing and maintaining the workshop and supporting practical classroom sessions.

Experience with woodwork and metalworking machines is advantageous, and qualifications in joinery or related trades are welcomed. This full-time, on-site role offers the chance to work in a traditional school environment with high expectations.

We are seeking to appoint a full-time Design Technology technician to assist in design technology department. You will be responsible for supporting the Design technology department in setting up equipment and practicals. Workshop skills will be an advantage but not essential.

We are looking for a hardworking and conscientious team player to join their Design Technology team and support the department. The successful candidate will set up practical classroom teaching and prepare and maintain the workshop, involving woodwork and metal work machines and equipment.

This post would particularly suit someone who has recent experience of working in a similar role, expertise in setting up machines and using tools, or qualifications in joinery, metal work or other material-related trades.
