Design Technology Teacher role in: Birmingham
  • Starting date: January 2026
  • Salary: MPS1 - MPS6 per day, DOE
  • Temporary Contract: Long-term cover
  • Full Time Vacancy: (8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday)
DT Teacher Specification

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Design & Technology Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Birmingham. This is a full-time role set to begin in January 2026 initially on a temporary basis, with the potential to become a permanent position.

The successful candidate will be confident in teaching DT across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Specialisms in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Textiles, or Graphics are welcome. You will be committed to delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to explore the creative and technical aspects of design while promoting high academic achievement.

  • Must hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Design & Technology at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
  • Strong subject knowledge in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Textiles, or Graphics
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Passion for DT education and fostering student creativity
  • Safeguarding Level 1 trained (we can support with this if needed)
