Design & Technology Teacher

Smile Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Telford to recruit a Design & Technology Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school known for its strong community values, student‑centred approach, and commitment to professional development.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and practical Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience is a bonus)
  • Teach areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Engineering (depending on specialism)
  • Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with the national curriculum
  • Inspire students to develop creativity, problem‑solving skills, and technical confidence
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following workshop health & safety procedures
  • Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and academic achievement
  • Uphold all safeguarding and school policies consistently
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Design & Technology at KS3 and KS4
  • Strong subject knowledge in one or more D&T specialisms
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
