Daily Rate: £32,916 - £45,352 (Paid to scale)

Days: Monday - Friday, Term Time Only

Start Date: Asap

Contract: Long-term to permanent

A specialist independent school in Nottinghamshire is looking for a full-time Design & Technology Teacher to join their team. The school supports pupils aged 8 to 18 with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD and SEMH.

The setting blends academic, practical and vocational learning within a highly supportive, therapeutic environment where relationship-building and personalised teaching are central to student progress.

They are ideally seeking a teacher with a woodwork specialism, although they are open to Design & Technology teachers from all backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons tailored to a wide range of ages and abilities
  • Create practical and skills-based learning opportunities, promoting student confidence and independence
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with pupils
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of pupils with Autism, ADHD and SEMH
  • Work closely with staff to ensure pupils feel supported
  • Provide constructive feedback that supports personal and academic development
  • Maintain a safe, organised and inclusive workshop and classroom environment
Key Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - ECTs are welcome to apply
  • Experience or interest in working with pupils who have SEN/SEMH needs
