Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a practical and organised Design & Technology Technician to join a secondary school in Weymouth. You will work alongside the teaching team to ensure the DT department is well prepared, safe and fully equipped to support practical lessons.

In this role you will prepare materials and equipment, set up classrooms and workshops before lessons, maintain tools and equipment, and assist students and teachers while keeping areas clean and safe.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in DT, engineering, construction, manufacturing or a related area.
• Comfortable working with tools, machinery and practical equipment.
• Good understanding of workshop health and safety.
• Highly organised and reliable.
• Able to work effectively alongside teachers and support staff.
• Patient and approachable when supporting students.
• Good attention to detail.
• Previous experience in an educational environment is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
