Job Description

Design Technician / Software Engineer

Working closely with the R and D Engineer and other technical team members at the UK and Chinese facilities, you will support current product lines and new development projects. The role involves design, engineering support, and product specification management.

Responsibilities

• Support product and process development projects through drawing and design work.
• Create and prototype components using SolidWorks, 3D modelling, and 3D printing.
• Provide engineering support to the UK manufacturing facility, including bespoke jig and fixture design, sourcing, and process engineering.
• Maintain and administer product specifications within the ERP system, including component setup, BOM and route creation.
• Manage non:conforming product administration, analyse failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions or refinements.

Person Specification

• Youll be a proactive and organised individual with strong communication skills. A solid technical foundation and good IT knowledge will support your ability to contribute effectively in a fast:paced engineering environment.
• A Have a degree in Product Design or Mechanical Engineering.
• A Be proficient in SolidWorks; 2D AutoCAD experience advantageous.
• A Have good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and analytical/modelling software.
