Job summary

Stantec in the United Kingdom is seeking a Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams delivering water sector projects from concept through detailed design. The role offers hybrid working with offices in Brighton or Southampton and opportunities to influence major programmes across the South of England.

You will oversee design, build and owners engineering activities, collaborate with clients and stakeholders, and drive innovation in wastewater, clean water, flood risk, and urban drainage

Qualifications

• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on major civil projects.
• Chartered engineer preferred; support can be provided to achieve this.

The Opportunity

These opportunities are enabling us to continue our growth, and we are looking to appoint a Design Manager to support major programmes in the South of England. About The Role

As a Design Manager, you won't just be drawing up plans; you'll be leading them. This is your chance to:

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of delivery, including design & build projects, detailed design, and owners engineering services, ensuring complex multi‑disciplinary collaboration.
• Plan and lead the technical delivery of projects, working closely with clients and guiding the multidisciplinary team.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to deliver best value and service excellence.
• Leverage a global network of experts to provide tools and knowledge for leading‑edge designs.

Qualifications

• Experienced engineer with strong technical expertise in Civils, Mechanical, Electrical, Process, or any other relevant discipline.
• Chartered with a relevant engineering institution is preferred; support can be given to achieve this if required.
• Demonstrable experience leading and managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing multiple projects and stakeholders. Previous experience of major projects is highly desirable.
