We're a leading engineering consultancy in the regulated water industry, with exciting growth plans across the business throughout the UK & Ireland. Within our Major Projects team, we are at the forefront of tackling the challenges facing the industry and are now looking to appoint experienced Design Managers into our Leeds office.

Our Design Managers work across the project lifecycle in asset planning / strategy, concept design, outline design and detailed design. We work in a variety of project areas within the water sector, including clean water treatment and networks, wastewater treatment, wastewater networks, flooding, and urban drainage. Our local design teams are involved in large partnership initiatives such as Hull and East Riding’s Living with Water partnership, award‑winning projects such as the Clifton Integrated Constructed Wetland, along with a number of other UK wide opportunities.
This includes Yorkshire Water's Storm Overflow Alliance, United Utilities' Design Development Partnership, Northumbrian Water's Strategic Technical Partnership and more across the UK.
As Design Manager, you will play a fundamental role within projects to identify innovative and sustainable solutions, work collaboratively with the client, plant technical delivery, and lead the multidisciplinary team throughout the project. You will work alongside the Project Manager to deliver best value and client service excellence. You will have access to Stantec’s world‑class expertise to help you deliver leading‑edge design.
We’re looking for someone who has a passion for solving engineering problems, the ability to lead and inspire, and the confidence to drive through challenging solutions.
To be considered for this role, you will be a degree qualified (or equivalent) engineer and you will ideally be chartered, or a member of a relevant engineering institution e.g. ICE. Support can be given to achieve this if required. You will have experience of working in a similar position, with a technical background in the likes of Civils, MEICA, Process or other relevant discipline.
