Job summary

A leading Main Contractor in Hertfordshire is seeking a Design Manager to lead the design process for Residential and Commercial projects up to £10m. You will manage multiple projects, oversee consultants, and ensure compliance with statutory regulations. Ideal candidates should have strong UK construction knowledge and be capable of working under pressure, with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Professional qualifications such as CIOB or RICS are desired but not necessary. The role offers a competitive salary of up to £60,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• Ability to work to tight deadlines in high pressure situations.
• Ability to coordinate and assist on pre-construction activities.
• Experience managing multiple projects or projects of complex nature.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process and produce accurate information.
• Manage the appointment of consultants and oversee their performance.

• Provide cost effective technical solutions.
• Chair design team meetings and manage project risks.
