Prime Appointments Ltd, on behalf of our manufacturing client in the Maldon area, is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead hands-on mechanical design from concept through to manufacture and final release.

You will produce detailed 3D models and drawings in SolidWorks, manage projects and budgets, coordinate with production and external contractors, and drive design for manufacture and quality improvements. Salary £50,000–£60,000, 40 hours, onsite.

Qualifications

• Strong SolidWorks experience is essential.
• Generalist mechanical design background required.
• Experience with milled, turned and sheet metal components.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture.

Responsabilités

• Produce detailed 3D models, assemblies and drawings in SolidWorks.
• Manage projects, timelines, budgets and technical specifications.
• Work closely with production to ensure designs are practical and ready for manufacture.
• Coordinate external contractors and provide technical guidance.
• Identify design improvements and ensure quality standards are maintained.
