Design Manager (Infrastructure) – Birmingham

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Design Manager to join a leading infrastructure contractor on an upcoming public realm and highways scheme in Birmingham. This role will see you working closely with the project team, overseeing design requirements throughout both tender and delivery stages, and providing guidance to design coordinators where needed.

  • Manage design consultants, sub-consultants, and design subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of design information.
  • Lead and mentor Design Coordinators, supporting their development and ensuring consistency across projects.
  • Oversee design delivery during the construction phase, supporting the project team and coordinating with all stakeholders.
  • Chair and minute design meetings, ensuring design outputs align with programme and quality expectations.
  • Contribute to assessing compatibility between Employers' Requirements and Contractor's Proposals.
Experience & Skills Required
  • Strong understanding of different client procurement routes.
  • Experience working at pre-construction stage.
  • Good knowledge of Design & Build contracts.
