Location: Old Oak Common / North Acton

Contract: 12 Months - Hybrid Working

We're looking for a Design Manager (Tunnels & Shafts Delivery Unit - TSDU) to lead and coordinate Stage 5 design delivery for a major infrastructure programme. You'll manage multi-disciplinary design activities, ensuring technical assurance, programme delivery, and integration between design, engineering, and construction teams.

Essential Requirements
  • Degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience managing design on large-scale civil or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of shaft and headhouse construction and fit-out.
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts, BIM, and digital engineering.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good knowledge of construction of shafts and headhouses with focus on fit-out and architectural elements, along with MEP interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate all design activities for assigned assets.
  • Oversee shaft fit-out and architectural design, including cladding, roofing, drainage, and fireproofing.
  • Manage design integration with MEP systems and third-party suppliers.
  • Report on progress, cost, and quality to senior management and the client.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and CDM 2015 regulations.
  • Manage change control, risk, and design assurance processes.
