Opportunity

Following a number of new projects secured in our Midlands division, we are pleased to invite you to apply for our Design Manager position. You will be joining our talented Design team, working on a variety of schemes ranging in value from £15m up to £50m+.

As our Design Manager you will be accountable for all aspects of design coordination from project inception to contract award (handover) for the business on projects throughout the GMI Group.

Responsibilities
  • Managing the design process across all aspects of our regional projects.
  • Leading design team meetings and workshops.
  • Checking and ensuring that Technical Queries & RFI’s are answered clearly and correctly to the supply chain tendering for all associated projects.
  • Reviewing and implementing value engineering and programme opportunities.
  • Ensuring all planning related matters are considered and a clear path to obtaining discharges are achievable prior to tender submission highlighting any risk / cost associated with conditions.
  • Reviewing and compiling the Design Teams Designer Risk Assessments, highlighting any risks and associated costs which the company could incur.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience of working for a Principal or Main Contractor.
  • An architectural, engineer or design background.
  • Degree qualified in Architecture or in a similar field.
  • Willing to travel to sites across the Midlands and surrounding regions.
