Job summary

Bouygues UK is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the design process for Building Safety projects, based in Bristol or Cardiff and coordinating with clients, consultants and site teams.

You will manage design packages across preconstruction and construction, ensuring compliance with regulations and buildability, and supporting procurement strategies across residential, schools, hospitals and student accommodation projects.

Qualifications

• Relevant construction or architecture qualification required.
• Strong background in façade and exterior design.
• Experience with fire safety design.
• Previous main contractor experience.
• Understanding of the RIBA plan of work.
• Knowledge of building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process across preconstruction and construction phases.
• Oversee design consultants and ensure compliance and buildability.
• Act as liaison between client, consultants and project teams.
• Coordinate preparation, review and sign-off of design documentation.
• Support procurement strategies and design packages.
