Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Building Management Systems (BMS) Manager to lead the delivery of BMS across multiple Regional Buildings projects. You will manage design development, coordination and technical assurance, ensuring integration with HVAC, lighting and energy management systems for optimal performance.

The role emphasizes collaboration with clients, consultants and project teams, plus overseeing commissioning, testing and handover.

Qualifications

  • Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional accreditation or membership of a relevant engineering institution desirable.
  • Proven experience in BMS design and building automation systems.

What you'll be doing

As a (BMS) Design Manager you will:

  • Lead the delivery of Building Management Systems across multiple Regional Buildings projects.
  • Manage BMS design development, coordination and technical assurance activities.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, consultants, supply chain partners and project teams.

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

  • Proven experience in BMS design, controls engineering, or building automation systems.
  • Previous experience managing complex BMS design projects within industrial, commercial, or critical environments.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC controls, energy management systems, smart buildings, and integrated building technologies.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard BMS platforms and control systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering standards.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline.
