Job summary

Kier is looking for an Assistant Design Manager to join their Places team. This role is based in Basingstoke and involves reviewing design information, supporting the design team, and mitigating project risks. Candidates should possess a minimum of HND/HNC/T Level or equivalent, strong communication skills, and an understanding of construction processes. A full driving license is required. The position is full-time at 40 hours per week, and there will be no support for certificates of sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Minimum of HND/HNC/T Level or equivalent (desirable).
• Good understanding of technical aspects of construction, including the RIBA plan of work and Building Regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full driving licence (does not need to be UK‑specific).

Responsibilities

• Reviewing design information and contractor’s designed portion packages at all RIBA stages.
• Supporting the establishment of the design team and aligning scope and accountabilities.
• Identifying, recording and mitigating design and project risks and opportunities.
• Supporting pricing assumptions to align with design development.
• Providing information and monitoring activity to ensure construction aligns with approved design.
