Job summary

Rullion is seeking a skilled design engineer for an on-site role near Whitehaven, UK. You will lead design activities, ensure on-time, on-budget delivery, and coordinate with clients, construction and operation teams to integrate safety, quality and performance requirements.

Candidates should have an engineering degree, 5–10 years in civil design, familiarity with NEC 3/4, and eligibility for SC clearance. This is a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with full-time onsite work.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in the relevant discipline.
• 5–10 years in civil engineering or similar design/construction projects.
• Understanding of construction methods and outputs.
• Familiarity with NEC 3/NEC 4 interfaces (Desirable).
• APM or Prince2 qualifications (Desirable).
• UK Security Vetting status – able to obtain SC clearance.

Responsibilities

• Complete design on time and within budget, including design reviews and stage gates.
• Provide technical support on the project.
• Ensure health, safety, welfare, environment and quality are considered throughout design.
• Manage and chair design reviews/interface meetings with Client and external parties.
• Prepare and manage the design deliverables schedule to ensure timely delivery within budget.

Start date: ASAP – depending on security clearance

Location: Near Whitehaven

Hours of work: 40 hours per week , Monday to Friday - Onsite 5 days per week

Role information:

• Completion of design on time and within budget including successful completion of design reviews, stage gates, construction reviews and hazard/risk reduction procedures.
• To provide technical support on the project.
• To ensure health, safety, welfare, environment, quality are considered as a core function of design at all stages, decisions and outcomes clearly communicated to construction and operation team
• Manage and chair design reviews/interface meetings with Client and external parties.
• Prepare and manage the design deliverables schedule - delivery on time and in budget.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Candidates Must hold an engineering degree in the relevant engineering discipline
• Min 5-10 years experience of civil engineering or similar design and construction projects
• Demonstrate understanding and working knowledge of construction methods and outputs.
• Understanding of specific design and engineering procedures.
• A clear understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces with the engineering function and design subcontracts - NEC 3/NEC 4 - Desirable
• Professional Qualification - APM, Prince 2 - Desirable
• UK Security Vetting Status – All candidates must be able to obtain SC clearance
