Overview

Design Manager South Down – INFORM3 is recruiting for a Design Manager for an established and expanding Mechanical Contractor based in South Down.

The main focus of this role is to manage the preconstruction activities, working closely with the contracts director, main contractors and external consultancies to ensure that all designs are fit for purpose and proactively contribute towards the growth of the company’s design capabilities.

Our client is looking for a design manager with at least three years of experience and coming from a mechanical background.

Responsibilities

• Taking responsibility for the design coordination of projects
• Ensuring technical excellence across projects and opportunities from pre-project through to detailed delivery
• Auditing the designs and identifying inconsistencies, discrepancies and missing information as well as recording, reporting and tracking
• Managing the production and control of the design programme
• Reviewing the development of designs regularly alongside the stakeholders to ensure projects are aligned
• Managing the production and approval of samples, mock-ups and quality benchmarks

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience performing in a similar role within the Mechanical sector
• Degree Certification in a relevant subject highly desirable
• A passion for design, a commitment to excellence and a focus on continuous improvement on both a personal and divisional level
• A high level of attention to detail and the ability to stay focused
• Excellent organisational skills able to prioritise your own work, deliver on time and delegate effectively
