Overview

Design Manager – Location: North West, Manchester. Salary: competitive (DOE).

Join a leading Tier one main contractor with an excellent pipeline of North West projects. The contractor specialises in large education and other public sector work schemes valued from £10m to £100m. They are seeking a Design Manager or Senior Design Manager to deliver design information for design and build projects.

Responsibilities

• Review the technical aspects of details provided by architects and engineers and coordinate changes with the Design team (including Structural Engineers, architects and external subcontractors) to ensure best value.
• Lead design team meetings to coordinate the building process and keep the client updated and well informed throughout the project.
• Register received drawings on the information system and approve drawings.
• Coordinate design information in accordance with CDM Building Regulations.

Knowledge, skills and experience

• Contracting experience of at least 4 years.
• Experience with various forms of construction technology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Project.
• Experience managing multiple projects or projects of a complex or high value.
