Job summary

Ganymede Solutions seeks a Design Manager Lead to support major water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the South. You will coordinate multidisciplinary design activities from outline through construction, working with project delivery teams, external consultants and supply‑chain partners.

The role requires coordinating design packages, ensuring alignment with programme and construction needs. A Civil, Mechanical or Electrical background is preferred, with MEICA or Electrical experience

Qualifications

• Extensive design management or design coordination on major infrastructure projects.
• Water or wastewater sector exposure.
• Able to coordinate interfaces across Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, ICA and Process disciplines.
• MEICA or Electrical experience is advantageous.
• Civil/Mechanical/Electrical engineering background is relevant.
• Experience with treatment works, pumping stations, process plant or major civils would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate multidisciplinary design activity from outline to construction.
• Work with project delivery teams, external consultants, subcontractors and supply-chain partners.
• Ensure design packages are coordinated, progressed to programme and aligned with construction teams.
• Identify design risks and drive technical issues to resolution across interfaces.

Design Manager Lead

£450 - £500 per day

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Design Manager Lead to support the delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the South.

This role will involve coordinating multidisciplinary design activity from outline and detailed design through to construction, working closely with project delivery teams, external consultants, specialist subcontractors and supply‑chain partners. You will be responsible for ensuring design packages are effectively coordinated, progressed to programme and aligned with the requirements of the construction teams.

The successful candidate will have significant Design Management or Design Coordination experience within major infrastructure projects, alongside previous water or wastewater sector experience. You should be confident managing interfaces across Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, ICA and Process disciplines, identifying design risks and constraints, and driving technical issues through to resolution.

A Civil, Mechanical or Electrical engineering background would be suitable, with MEICA or Electrical experience particularly advantageous. Experience across treatment works, pumping stations, process plant, major civils or specialist subcontractor‑designed packages would also be beneficial.

The role will be predominantly remote, with attendance at projects across Hampshire and Sussex approximately two days per week as required.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a major AMP8 programme with a significant pipeline of projects across the region.
