Design Manager / Steelwork Engineer


Bristol- Hybrid


£55,000 - £65,000 (DOE)


We are seeking a Design Manager with strong structural / steelwork expertise to support major nuclear new-build and energy programmes, including work on next-generation power stations and emerging SMR technology. You will operate in a self-delivery capacity, taking ownership of design deliverables across assigned buildings within a large-scale structural steelwork (SSW) scope.


In this role, you will manage and produce design documentation such as input data lists, reports, drawings, calculations, and presentation materials. You will also oversee design changes, surveillance activities, open points, Field Change Requests, RFIs, and Non-Conformance reports.


Day-to-day you will make operational decisions to ensure quality, cost, and programme targets are achieved while identifying and managing risks that may impact delivery.


You will report to the Deputy Delivery Lead and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, preparing updates, presentations, and meeting records as required.
