Are you a mechanically minded Design Engineer with a passion for precision engineering and product development? This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading manufacturer supplying engineered products to global industrial markets — where quality, reliability and innovation are at the core of everything they do.

The Role

You’ll join a close-knit engineering team responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies — from concept through to manufacture. Working with CNC-machined parts, enclosures and precision fittings, you’ll turn ideas into robust, cost-effective, production-ready designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and develop mechanical designs and 3D models using CAD software
  • Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs and documentation
  • Work closely with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure designs are optimised for machining and assembly
  • Support prototype builds, testing and product validation
  • Drive continuous improvement of existing designs for performance and cost
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality and procurement
About You
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
  • Solid experience designing machined components and assemblies
  • Proficient with CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo or similar)
  • Strong understanding of materials, tolerancing and manufacturing processes (CNC, turning, milling)
  • Hands-on approach with an eye for detail and problem-solving
  • Confident communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment
