Job summary

A leading engineering firm seeks a Hardware Engineer specializing in controls and instrumentation. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience, strong skills in PLC programming, and a B.E./B.Tech in Electrical or ENTC. Qualifications

Job title: Hardware Engineer (Controls Instrumentation)

Job Location: UK (Long term assignment)

Must to have skills: PLC programming, Panel Designing, SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, Eplan

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, development, and commissioning of control systems, including variable speed motors and drives, PLC based test systems, PID diagrams
  • Actively participate in engineering projects including interaction with customers and internal departments as required.
  • Test, diagnose and rectify faults to validate products
  • Ensure designs meet legislative requirements
  • Creation of system specifications and test documentation to a high standard
  • Assist with commissioning of systems both in-house and at customer sites within UK and internationally
Desired
  • Industrial communication protocols e.g. ProfiNET, EtherNetIP, EtherCAT, CAN; Modbus TCP
  • Industrial wiring and switchgear, design and selection techniques
  • Industrial sensors e.g. encoders, transducers for pressure, flow, temperature etc.
  • Cable types and selection for industrial applications
  • PID diagrams and translation to control systems
  • Power sources and integration for test applications
  • Electrical legislation and compliance techniques UKCA, CE, UL, CSA
