About the Role

Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

Where will you be working?

At M Group Telecom, we’re enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech‑enabled future. We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators.

Private networks – We find the best technology, manage assets and refresh systems. With 24/7 network operations, we keep things running smoothly while operating comprehensive network repair and maintenance to keep everything in top shape. This role can be based anywhere in the UK, with a contractual location but you’ll be working from home most of the time, with ad‑hoc team meetings in one of our locations.

What will you be doing?

We’re seeking someone with at least 2‑3 years of experience in technical solution design or consultancy, working with SME or larger customers. You should have strong presentation and interpersonal skills, be able to influence internal stakeholders and customers effectively, and be a self‑starter with a can‑do attitude. You’ll thrive under pressure and deliver profitable, workable solutions. You’ll be familiar with best practices in design methodology and Telco business processes (eTOM or ITIL), and have a solid understanding of the technologies within customer estates. Knowledge of High‑Level Design, Low‑Level Design, Bill of Materials, project costing, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, and AutoCAD are essential.

What you’ll bring
  • You’ll have experience with mission‑critical, Black‑Start compliant, low latency networks using SDH/PDH, MPLS/IP, fibre, microwave radio, and leased line products (e.g., Openreach EAD, OSA).
  • You’ll understand Layer 2 & 3 networks, WAN, LAN, and services design. Knowledge of fibre systems, electrical utility fibre deployment, and telecoms installation in substations is key.
  • You’ll also have experience designing DC power supply and battery systems, working with copper xDSL (BT WBMC, SHDSL), synchronisation networks (PRC, SSU, NTP, PTP), and satellite services (e.g., BGAN, T‑SAT).
What’s in it for you?
  • Matched or contributory pension scheme
  • Online GP service, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
  • Employee assistance programme
  • My Rewards portal, access to thousands of retail discounts
  • Life assurance
  • Cycle to work, salary finance and give as you earn schemes
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity leave and adoption leave
  • Reward and recognition scheme
  • Health Care Cash Plan – claim back medical expenses such as dental, eye care and physiotherapy and more
  • Discretionary bonus scheme
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Recommend a friend – get rewarded for introducing people to us!

We’re together and as one team, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. We’re ambitious and embrace opportunity, to lead essential infrastructure services for life.

Whether you’re a trainee, apprentice or graduate, or progressing through your career, our people benefit from industry‑recognised programmes, training and development.
