About the role

As a Design Engineer, you are responsible for owning and delivering Aircraft Seating design work packages within the Applications Engineering function, achieving on time product delivery and compliance to customer and airframe specifications and to regulatory requirements (CAA, EASA and FAA).

Working closely with other Mirus functional teams and external stakeholders, you will ensure effective & efficient configuration, customisation and design of aircraft seating products.

In your role as our Design Engineer, you will:

  • Customise and reconfigure our seating products to meet customer specifications and ensure compatibility with various airframe installations.
  • Deliver work packages for linefit and retrofit engineering projects, achieving on time product delivery, to specification, ensuring compliance to the airframe and regulatory (CAA, EASA and FAA) requirements.
  • Generate and contribute to the of customer delivery timing plans and actively engage in measures to adhere to plan.
  • Liaise with certification, test and stress teams to ensure designs meet the structural and aircraft airworthiness requirements.
About you

To help Mirus continue our journey of growth, you will require a minimum of 2 years design engineering experience. Prior aircraft seating is not a necessity, but we expect a willingness to learn, a passion for innovation, problem solving abilities and drive for operational excellence along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

  • A Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent technical qualification and industrial experience).
  • 1–2 years of experience in a design engineering role, ideally within a mechanical or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with CAD and PDM systems, including modelling and drawing techniques (e.g., GD&T).
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn from senior engineers and cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a desire to contribute to innovative product development.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks effectively in a fast‑paced setting.
Desirable
  • Exposure to aerospace, automotive, or similar regulated industries.
  • Understanding of airworthiness or compliance standards (CAA, EASA, FAA).
  • Experience working in a production or serial manufacturing environment.

  • Good personal time management and comfortable working to deadlines.
