Design Engineer

Location: Hailsham, East Sussex | Type: Permanent, Full-Time | Salary: Competitive + Private Health Insurance

We’re recruiting a Design Engineer to join a growing engineering company in Hailsham that designs and manufactures specialist equipment for the advanced materials industry. Their technology is used globally across the aerospace, defence, and general engineering sectors.

This is a hands-on design role with responsibility for developing mechanical systems and assemblies from concept through to completion.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop 2D and 3D CAD models and technical documentation
  • Support production, maintenance, and technical queries
  • Conduct FEA, CFD, and hand calculations to support design work
  • Run design reviews, track design changes, and manage BOMs
  • Research materials, processes, and new technologies
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Design Engineering
  • Strong CAD experience (Inventor and AutoCAD)
  • Knowledge of FEA/CFD analysis and design calculations
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to deadlines
Team and Work Environment

You’ll join a small, multidisciplinary team where your designs will directly influence production and product innovation.
