Our client, based in the East Cheshire area, is looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer with machinery design experience. This is a permanent role paying £50,000 - £55,000 per annum. Work is on days working from Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm. The job is commutable from the following areas: Crewe, Middlewich, Holmes Chapel, Congleton, Macclesfield, Leek, Northwich, Knutsford, Biddulph, Newcastle-under-Lyme & North Stoke areas.

Responsibilities

• Design and detailing of machinery and mechanical engineering components.
• Calculations using standard formulas and codes.
• Ensuring the design meets the client specification whilst meeting value engineering principles.
• Ensuring that the design is consistent with standards and safe working practices.
• Liaising and working closely with different in-house teams, including production & senior management.
• Site visits to customer sites to discuss specifications and taking dimensions where necessary.

Qualifications

5-10+ years\' experience working within mechanical machinery design, working to tight design tolerances and understanding interactions between moving parts; covering process machinery/plant design & associated ancillary equipment, bearings, shafts, rotating machinery, seals etc. They may also be open to a less experienced Engineer with relevant machinery design experience.
