Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain databases for power distribution.
  • Produce feasibility studies for ship/equipment integration.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams.
  • Support detailed design activities for electrical systems.

Skills

Design the Future of Maritime Technology

What you will be doing:

  • Produce installation design solutions for new equipment on maritime platforms, including:
    • Electrical/System drawings
    • Cable route drawings and data sheets
    • Bill of Materials (BoMs)
    • Installation instructions
  • Liaise with MoD customers and industry partners to define and agree on equipment integration requirements
  • Conduct ship surveys to support:
    • Design integration
    • Equipment material state reporting
    • Configuration control
    • Ship power and load chart management
  • Configure and maintain ship databases for electrical power distribution and blown fibre networks
  • Produce feasibility studies for ship/equipment integration
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams (Mechanical, Structural, HVAC, Project Management)
  • Engage with industry partners and technical authorities
  • Support detailed design activities for shipbuilding and submarine electrical systems
  • Contribute technical input to product safety assessments and design service deliverable's
Your skills and experiences:
  • Knowledge of electrical systems theory
  • Ability to interpret/apply electrical design standards
  • Experience with electrical installation and distribution systems
  • Proficient in CAD/engineering drawing tools
  • IT literate (Microsoft Office)
  • ONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
