Responsibilities

• Produce installation design solutions for new equipment on maritime platforms.
• Liaise with MoD customers for equipment integration requirements.
• Conduct ship surveys to support design integration and material state reporting.
• Configure and maintain ship databases for electrical power distribution.
• Produce feasibility studies for ship/equipment integration.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams.
• Engage with industry partners and technical authorities.
• Support detailed design activities for shipbuilding electrical systems.
• Contribute to product safety assessments.

Skills

Knowledge of electrical systems theory

Ability to interpret/apply electrical design standards

Experience with electrical installation and distribution systems

Education

Design the Future of Maritime Technology

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented professional to contribute to the production of installation design solutions for the integration of new equipment into maritime platforms. This critical role involves developing comprehensive technical documentation, including electrical and system drawings, cable route layouts, and detailed cable data sheets, to support the successful deployment of advanced systems in complex marine environments.

Responsibilities

• Produce installation design solutions for new equipment on maritime platforms, including:
• Electrical/System drawings
• Cable route drawings and data sheets
• Bill of Materials (BoMs)
• Installation instructions

• Liaise with MoD customers and industry partners to define and agree on equipment integration requirements

• Conduct ship surveys to support:
• Design integration
• Equipment material state reporting
• Configuration control
• Ship power and load chart management

• Configure and maintain ship databases for electrical power distribution and blown fibre networks

• Produce feasibility studies for ship/equipment integration

• Work collaboratively with internal teams (Mechanical, Structural, HVAC, Project Management)

• Engage with industry partners and technical authorities

• Support detailed design activities for shipbuilding and submarine electrical systems

• Contribute technical input to product safety assessments and design service deliverable's

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical systems theory
• Ability to interpret/apply electrical design standards
• Experience with electrical installation and distribution systems
• Proficient in CAD/engineering drawing tools
• IT literate (Microsoft Office)
• ONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
