Job summary

MWH Treatment Limited is seeking a Civil Engineer based at Maple Lodge with hybrid working. You will report to the Principal and provide engineering design services to minimise risks and maximise profit on turnkey and engineering contracts.

You will coordinate designs and prepare design documents and drawings while accounting for health, safety, specifications and standards. Key responsibilities include producing cost‑effective layouts, applying standard practices, providing estimates for

• Understand the principles of water and sewage treatment.
• Minimum: Engineering HND in a relevant discipline.
• Preferable: Engineering degree in a relevant discipline.

Responsibilities

• Produce design layouts that are cost effective, meet specifications and can be constructed and commissioned.
• Coordinate designs with all internal and external disciplines to ensure integrated design delivery.
• Provide estimates and feedback for proposals department.
• Work to procedures to support ongoing development of the department.
• Monitor and review procedures and processes.
• Write and update efficient procedures to aid smooth running of the department.
• Ensure designs consider environmental issues and health and safety requirements.

Job description

We arelooking to strengthen our engineering team with a Civil Engineer based at Maple Lodgewith hybrid working available.

You will report directly to the Principal and your role will be to provide superior quality Engineering Design services to allow the company to minimise risks and maximise profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. You will co-ordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings taking due account of health and safety requirements, specifications and standards pertaining to the contract.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Produce design layouts which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be constructed and commissioned effectively.
• Ensure that standard practices are utilised wherever possible.
• Provide estimates and feedback for proposals department.
• Work to procedures and processes to ensure the continuing development of the department.
• Monitor and review the procedures and processes.
• Write, update and monitor efficient procedures to aid the smooth running of the department.
• Ensure co-ordination of designs with all other disciplines internal and external to MWHT in order to ensure that the design processes carried out on the contract are co-ordinated for the benefit of the contract as a whole.
• To work within a culture where satisfying the customer is recognised as the key to achieving other objectives, and that customers include everyone receiving benefit from our processes, whether end users or other departments within the company.
• Ensure designs take account of environmental issues.
• Ensure that design takes full regard of all health and safety requirements.

• Essential:Understand the principles of water and sewage treatment.
• Minimum:- relevant discipline Engineering HND.
• Preferable: - relevant discipline Engineering degree.
• Ability to rationalise designs and produce economic plant layouts.
• A flexible mind, with the ability to assimilate large amounts of different data at one time.
• Ability to present technical proposals clearly, confidently and convincingly.
• Computer literacy.
