Design Engineer - Watton | £30,000 - £35,000 per year

Please note: This position requires applicants to be local residents, as the company is unable to provide sponsorship.

Position 1 Recruitment is hiring a Design Engineer to join a long-standing engineering client in Watton. This full-time, permanent role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical design experience, particularly using Autodesk Inventor.

What You’ll Do
  • Design hazardous area heaters, producing 3D models, calculations, and full documentation
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Ensure all designs meet certification standards and client specifications
  • Work with Project Managers to provide design support and updates
  • Liaise with subcontractors and vendors to ensure technical accuracy
What We’re Looking For
  • Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Proven mechanical design engineering experience
  • Strong skills in Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software
  • Excellent attention to detail and understanding of engineering documentation and standards
