Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Create compelling staircase concepts in SketchUp and high-quality 3D visuals using SolidWorks.
  • Produce general assembly drawings in SolidWorks for client sign-off.
  • Generate accurate technical CAD drawings and 3D models.
  • Prepare detailed production drawings for manufacture.
  • Assist workshop with CNC programming and technical queries.

Design Engineer - SolidWorks Permanent Full-Time

Location – Office based in Cobridge

Join a team of dedicated specialist designers and craftsman at a company that creates truly unique staircases and provides full renovation services across the UK. It manages every detail, from concept sketches and precision engineering to flawless nationwide fitting, providing products that are a functional necessity and a stunning architectural feature.

We’re looking for a talented Design Engineer who is conversant with SolidWorks and AutoCAD, able to create 3D Models and detailed 2D production drawings for manufacture across timber and steel. You will be instrumental in creating unique architectural centrepieces for high‑end residential and commercial projects nationwide.

Responsibilities, but are not limited to
  • Create compelling staircase concepts in SketchUp and high‑quality 3D visuals using SolidWorks to actively support the sales process and secure client commitment
  • Produce general assembly drawings in SolidWorks for client sign‑off
  • Generate accurate technical CAD drawings and 3D models
  • Prepare detailed, production drawings for the manufacture of components (steel and / or timber)
  • Assist the workshop with CNC programming and technical queries
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, the sales team, and the production floor to manage design expectations and ensure a smooth project flow from concept to installation
Experiences required
  • Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Proven experience in technical design, specifically within the bespoke joinery or steel fabrication sectors
  • Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes for steel and / or timber
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills, with a commitment to customer satisfaction
