Overview

Are you passionate about precision and detail in CAD design? Do you have experience producing 2D drawings and managing BIM models for complex engineering projects? Can you confidently work with AutoCAD and BIM standards to deliver accurate, coordinated designs?

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join a leading engineering consultancy, supporting major infrastructure projects. This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge designs while ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

We would also welcome applications from those with experience in construction, civil engineering, utilities, energy, or transportation.

This role would suit candidates currently working as CAD Designer, BIM Technician, Design Draughtsperson, Revit Technician, AutoCAD Technician, Junior Design Engineer, CAD Coordinator, BIM Coordinator, Technical Draughtsperson, or Design Technician.

Responsibilities
  • Create and update 2D drawings and graphical models, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project standards.
  • Manage design documentation and maintain Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms for project delivery.
  • Support BIM processes, including clash detection, 3D modelling, and producing visual outputs for design validation.
  • Coordinate with design teams to ensure models and drawings are fully integrated and spatially accurate.
  • Assist in implementing BIM Execution Plans and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with Bentley systems; experience with Revit and 4D software is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of CAD/BIM standards and processes, including BS/PAS/ISO frameworks.
  • Knowledge of construction and infrastructure design principles.
  • Ability to manage digital design environments and ensure quality control of data and drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams.
