Design Engineer

Our client is recruiting a Design Engineer to join their growing team!

Design Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design and produce wiring diagrams for bespoke machinery, in addition to all mechanical design
• Develop ideas and concepts through manufacture, of bespoke major assemblies from the ground up, using AutoCAD and Solidworks
• Able to work with and program logic relays, motor drives
• Use AutoCAD and Solidworks to produce variants and tooling drawings for legacy machine equipment
• Produce minor assembly drawings for glue associated equipment to customer hot melt glue application machinery
• Produce detailed equipment manuals using MS office tools
• Frontline contact with customers at their site
• Working with a team of engineers
• Well organised and punctual

The ideal Design Engineer will be:

• Experience within a similar job role of at least 5 years
• Previous experience designing machinery
• Proficient with 2D or 3D AutoCAD or Solid Works 3D
• Strong familiarity with manufacturing processes, milling, turning, welding/fabrication
• Experience in mechanical engineering and design tooling
• Experience of new product introduction, including design, development, prototyping, testing and approval, successful introduction
• Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
