Job summary

Visum Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Design & Drawing Engineer to collaborate with project managers, commissioning, logistics and sales teams, providing drawing and design support across multiple live projects in parallel.

You will produce detailed general arrangement drawings, layout and fabrication drawings, generate 2D AutoCAD drawings, and assist with 3D models using SolidWorks or similar, while working with Project Engineers to interpret requirements and installation constraints.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a design, draughting or drawing office role within an engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D), with experience producing general arrangement and fabrication drawings.
• Experience using 3D CAD software (such as SolidWorks or similar) for modelling systems, assemblies or layouts.
• Ability to interpret engineering information, specifications and technical inputs from sales, project and commissioning teams.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed general arrangement drawings, layout drawings and fabrication drawings in accordance with project requirements, company standards and customer specifications.
• Generate 2D AutoCAD drawings for the majority of project work, alongside 3D models where required using appropriate CAD software.
• Support the preparation of 3D models for more complex systems, layouts or interfaces, typically accounting for approximately 30% of project workload.
• Work closely with Project Engineers and Project Managers to interpret project requirements, design intent and installation constraints.

The Design & Drawing Engineer will work closely with the project managers, commissioning, logistics and sales teams, providing drawing and design support across multiple live projects at any one time. With experience, there may be opportunities to progress into senior design, project engineering or specialist technical roles within the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Produce detailed general arrangement drawings, layout drawings and fabrication drawings in accordance with project requirements, company standards and customer specifications.
• Generate 2D AutoCAD drawings for the majority of project work, alongside 3D models where required using appropriate CAD software.
• Support the preparation of 3D models for more complex systems, layouts or interfaces, typically accounting for approximately 30% of project workload.
• Work closely with Project Engineers and Project Managers to interpret project requirements, design intent and installation constraints.

The following experience, skills and attributes are considered essential for success in this role:

The salary for this role is up to £45,000 (DOE)
