Job summary

Mabey Hire, a leading provider of temporary works solutions, is seeking a Design Engineer to join the Dewsbury team. You will produce designs for groundworks and related schemes, ensuring compliance with BS5975:2019 while engaging with clients through meetings and site visits.

The role requires a civil/structural engineering qualification and at least 3 years of experience in temporary works, with proficiency in AutoCAD 2D or REVIT and a readiness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• HND or degree in civil/structural engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience designing temporary works.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Experience designing Formwork & Falsework.
• Good understanding of CDM 2015.
• Experience utilizing AutoCAD 2D and/or REVIT.

Responsibilities

• Prepare temporary works designs for groundworks and eventually other product schemes.
• Checking designs and drawing in accordance with BS5975:2019
• Attend client meetings and carry out site visits.
• Review design briefs provided by the sales team through Launchpad and provide feedback if more information is required.
• Managing your own workload
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects as agreed by the Engineering Director.

Design Engineer

We are a leading temporary works specialist and at the forefront of our industry for over 60 years, with a reputation built on engineering and service excellence. This enables us to deliver the right temporary works solution for our customers, whatever the scale or complexity of the project. Our customers include civil engineering and construction contractors, asset owners, and consulting engineering firms through to small builders.

Due to continued growth, we are currently looking for a design engineer to join our engineering team in Dewsbury. Reporting to a Design Team Leader, you will be responsible for producing temporary works designs for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework.

The role would suit an engineer with a few years post graduate experience with demonstratable technical experience in structures or geotechnical design and a sound understanding of temporary works. At Mabey Hire, the floor is yours to fulfil your potential and take us forward.
