Role, Team & Location

We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our team. This role is based at our office in Cramlington, UK. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting product designs by creating 3D models in Inventor and performing relevant calculations. Additionally, you will contribute to technical documentation for subcontractors and prepare specifications for essential procurement components.

As a Design Engineer, you will work closely with the Project Engineer and Engineering Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to develop further in engineering and technology within an international work environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the product design process. You will work on structural, mechanical, electrical, or piping components and assemblies in Inventor, ensuring accurate manufacturing and customer drawings for gas turbine auxiliary systems. Additionally, you will support the execution of calculations to optimize product designs.

Beyond design tasks, you will be responsible for coordination and communication with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution. You will report progress, identify potential bottlenecks in a timely manner, and actively contribute to a structured work schedule based on deadlines and time constraints.

Quality assurance and efficiency are essential in this role. You will ensure that designs and drawings are executed accurately within the agreed project timeline while actively working on expanding your technical knowledge and skills. Furthermore, you will act as a key discussion partner for colleagues, providing proactive advice on technical solutions while considering legal regulations and customer requirements.

What You Bring
Experience & Education:
  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in an engineering or technical project environment.
  • Experience with design and analysis software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and Vault.
Skills:
  • Proficiency in English;
