Role Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Design Engineer to join the Brentwood office and contribute to the delivery of fit-for-purpose utility network designs. This customer-facing role plays a key part in supporting business growth through technical excellence and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce utility network designs and construction packs in line with customer and business requirements.
  • Work closely with Business Development, ESOs, and Designers to develop tender and construction designs.
  • Ensure designs meet planning, safety, and technical standards.
  • Promote a zero-harm culture and ensure compliance with HSEQ policies.
  • Conduct Design Risk Assessments and support safety by design principles.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Represent the business in customer interactions with support from senior engineers.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in engineering or technical subject (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and health & safety legislation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (or working towards).
  • Experience with utility new connections and development sites.
  • Understanding of construction principles.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
