A leading engineering firm is looking for a Design Integrator to join their Wing Plant Engineering Team in Aberystwyth. This role involves managing improvement projects and acting as a link between engineering and operations to ensure customer-focused solutions. Candidates should have a strong design engineering background and excellent project management skills. Location: Broughton (Onsite Requirement)
Contract Duration: Until 15/12/2026 (Likely to be extended)
Hours: 35 hours per week (4.5 days, flexible between 7am - 7pm)
Clearance: BPSS+ required

We are seeking a Design Integrator to join the Wing Plant Engineering Team, supporting continuous product development and incremental improvement projects. This role is pivotal in bridging engineering and operations, ensuring technical solutions meet industrial requirements while maintaining a customer‑focused perspective. You will lead improvement projects, manage deliverables to time, cost, and quality, and act as the main interface between engineering and operational teams. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical and leadership skills in a collaborative environment.
As a Design Integrator, you will take ownership of improvement projects and lead them through the LBIP process, ensuring that technical solutions are delivered right the first time. You will act as the primary link between Engineering and Operations, promoting co‑design solutions that meet industrial system requirements while keeping customer needs at the forefront. Your role will involve driving proactive product improvements aimed at reducing recurring and non‑recurring costs, minimizing disruption, and addressing non‑conformances. Additionally, you will support initiatives that enhance team efficiency and effectiveness through the application of improved methods, tools, and processes. Building strong relationships with stakeholders and fostering collaboration with manufacturing engineering will be key to your success.
To excel in this role, you will need a strong design engineering background combined with project management experience. Excellent communication and networking skills are essential, as you will be influencing and driving projects forward across multiple teams. You should be highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and deliver reliably on time, cost, and quality.
