Job Overview

My client, a regional civil engineering contractor, is seeking a Design Co-ordinator / Engineer. The role is based at the head office with travel to projects within the region.

Main Duties
  1. Management of site staff operatives and sub-contractors
  2. Provide assistance and advice regarding design input required at tender stage
  3. Assist in building designer and integrated teams
  4. Manage and review consultant and sub-contractor design work; maintain the approved design consultant register
  5. Provide advice and assistance to site staff on design matters
  6. Provide advice on planning
  7. Advise on the appropriateness of technical solutions
  8. Act as Design Co-ordinator during tender and construction stages as required
  9. Advise on design responsibilities under CDM 2015
Candidate Requirements
  1. Experience managing site staff and sub-contractors
  2. Strong collaborative communication skills
  3. An engineering background to envisage scheme construction
  4. Attention to detail
  5. Proficiency in programming software
  6. Awareness of CDM Regulations
  7. Understanding of design processes, procedures, guidance, codes, and standards
  8. Knowledge of common construction specifications
  9. Management skills to promote timely and accurate design solutions
