Job summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking a talented Design Coordinator to join our Regional Civils team. This role will lead the design coordination during bid and pre-construction phases to deliver winning solutions.

You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, ensure alignment with customer requirements and standards, and drive high-quality outputs on time and within budget. A proactive, commercially aware approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in design coordination within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of pre-construction and bid processes.
• Experience with various contract forms and procurement routes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and influence multi-disciplinary teams.

About the role

Balfour Beatty is seeking a talented and driven Design Coordinator to join our Regional Civils team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping high-value infrastructure projects, leading the coordination of design during bid and pre-construction phases to deliver winning solutions.

You will lead, manage, and coordinate all aspects of bid and pre-construction commissions, ensuring that high-quality, competitive proposals are delivered in line with Balfour Beatty’s management systems, strategic objectives, and brand values.

What you'll be doing

As a Design Coordinator you will:

• Lead and coordinate the design process across complex bid and pre-construction activities
• Manage multi-disciplinary design teams to produce innovative, compliant, and cost-effective solutions
• Ensure alignment with customer requirements, technical standards, and project constraints
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
• Support the development of winning strategies for tenders and framework opportunities
• Ensure all design outputs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
• Contribute to risk management, value engineering, and buildability assessment.
