Tesco is seeking an Assistant Designer for the Paperchase & Papershop teams to translate trends into prints and product concepts. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with design, buying and suppliers from idea to launch, supporting sampling and development processes in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a design portfolio, a BA in Design or equivalent, and strong skills in Illustrator and Photoshop (InDesign and Procreate a bonus).

Qualifications

• Experience in a creative design role with a portfolio demonstrating skills and creative thinking.
• BA degree in Design (product, fashion, furniture, textiles, surface pattern, decorative arts) or equivalent experience.

Responsabilités

• Providing design, product development and sampling support to keep the team running smoothly.
• Proactive communications with the buying and design teams, creating awareness of emerging trends, product categories and colours.
• Conducting customer and competitor research to inform designs and create reports for design team meetings.
• Contributing to the department's design direction and identifying core lines, key statements and colours to drive sales.
• Understanding best and worst lines to influence seasonal strategy and product opportunities.
• Supporting in designing balanced ranges and understanding range principles.
• Supporting the delivery of must haves and seasonal/trend products for our customer.
• Resolving day to day operational issues/queries, escalating where appropriate.
• Assisting manager by designing the correct number of options to meet department needs.
• Compiling brief packs to achieve right first time quality buying samples.
• Playing role in delivering design component of General Merchandise critical path.

Bring your creativity to life as an Assistant Designer in our Paperchase & Papershop team. Working across the Paperchase and Tesco brands, you'll help create trend-led, customer-focused products, turning the latest design inspiration into innovative prints and product concepts. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers, you'll support the design journey from idea to launch, making a real impact in a fast-paced and creative environment.

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; MS Office, InDesign and Procreate experience are a bonus.
