Qualifications

  • Degree (or alternative qualification) in Jewellery Design or a related creative discipline.
  • Strong understanding in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Demonstrate an ability to create technical drawings.
  • Ability to manage many projects concurrently and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong visual and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a small team.
  • A passion for fine jewellery, craftsmanship and heritage design.
  • Knowledge of CAD software (Rhino, MatrixGold or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Support the team with daily studio administration and coordination tasks.
  • Ensure the studio is well-stocked with essential materials and tools.

We are looking for a creative, detail‑oriented Design and Studio Assistant to join our London jewellery studio for a 1-year maternity cover contract, with the strong possibility of ongoing work beyond this period.

Working closely with the Creative Director and studio team, you’ll support both the creative and admin sides of the studio, with design development, and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the studio. You will also assist with client‑facing responsibilities, assisting with bespoke commissions and consultations.

This is a studio‑based role that is ideal for an early‑career professional with a passion for jewellery, craftsmanship, and design development.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Development
  • Assist the design team with research, and concept development, producing detailed sketches, technical drawings and CAD renderings.
  • Create presentation materials, and digital technical illustrations.
  • Liaise with the workshop.
  • Liaise with clients in-shop, ensuring smooth communication between design and workshop teams.
Studio Support
  • Support the team with daily studio administration and coordination tasks.
  • Ensure the studio is well-stocked with essential materials and tools.
  • Help prepare documentation for client presentations and exhibitions.
  • Prepare design packs, stones and references for client meetings.
  • Assist with photography, archiving, and digital filing of design materials; maintaining design records and portfolios.
  • Assisting with client tours and events.
Skills & Experience
Essential
