Robertson Recruitment are working with a manufacturing company based in the DE24 area of Derby as they look to recruit a design engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. Ideally the candidate would come from a sheet metal fabrication background. This role would suit a motivated individual, looking for a new opportunity to progress their career professionally within a well-established manufacturing business.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 40 hours a week.

Flexible start times - 07:00am - 08:00am.

Responsibilities

• Use CAD design tools such as SolidWorks to produce 3D models from initial customer drawings
• Interpreting customer designs and where necessary providing recommendations
• Collaborate with production personnel during the build process to ensure best practice and support problem resolution
• Ensuring products meet the required quality standards
• Generating and amending Bill of materials (BOMs)

Skills Required

• Strong background in 3D CAD/CAM design, ideally using SolidWorks
• A flexible and enthusiastic team player with a passion for engineering and problem solving
• Computer literate and understand Microsoft Office
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication and equipment would be beneficial but not essential
• Nesting software (Lantek) experience beneficial but not essential
