Job summary

Gardner Aerospace Operations UK Limited in Derby is seeking an experienced FAIR Engineer to join the Derby manufacturing team. The role emphasizes maintaining quality and performing inspections across production, with emphasis on first article procedures.

Applicants should have an engineering background, be able to read engineering drawings, and ideally possess aerospace quality experience. Security clearance eligibility is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Engineering background with ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Aerospace sector knowledge is preferred.
• Experience in a quality control environment is preferred.
• Provide First Article Inspection Reports.
• First Article Inspection experience is beneficial.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain quality control within the manufacturing process, in line with standards and customer requirements.
• Inspect and verify parts at all stages of production.
• Conduct First Article Inspection procedures.
• Apply non-conformance procedures and root-cause analysis.
• Work with the team to meet quality and production targets.
• Support integrating quality into the manufacturing cycle.
• Represent quality at team meetings.
• Experience with CMM is advantageous.
