This is a 6-month fixed-term position.

What you will be doing

With experience from the NHS or private care, you will support the Ward Manager to lead the nursing team in providing high-quality care and support to people with acute mental health conditions across two wards and eight flats, while also supporting colleagues and promoting teamwork.

As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will empower recovery and deliver supervision to staff, work alongside the senior Nurse and Ward Manager to coordinate the on-call service, manage ward budgets, and lead by example to create a positive learning environment. Other duties include:

  • Providing Clinical Leadership and expertise
  • Supporting a unified service and engaged workforce
  • Ensuring high standards within the Clinical Governance framework
  • Supervising nursing staff effectively
  • Being an expert resource on Nursing care within the specialism
  • Maintaining a positive, collaborative environment
  • Taking charge of the ward in the Ward Manager's absence

  • A relevant nursing qualification
  • NMC registration

Pinhoe View, College Way, Exeter, EX1 3PZ

A purpose-built facility providing mental health services for adults with acute conditions across two wards and flats. The service is supported by a multidisciplinary team specializing in assessment, treatment, and stabilization.
