Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Deputy Ward Sister for a full-time post at King’s Mill Hospital. You will lead the ward, model clinical excellence, mentor junior staff, and contribute to governance and service development.
The role requires substantial post-qualification nursing experience, NMC registration, and a teaching/mentoring qualification. Salary band 6 with AF and full-time hours, based in Sutton-In-Ashfield, UK.
Are you a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse looking to make a real difference? We are seeking an experienced nurse to join our dedicated 24-bed ward, caring for some of our most vulnerable patients.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills while supporting and mentoring junior colleagues. We are looking for someone with strong clinical experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
You will join a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team committed to providing exceptional patient experiences. As a role model and clinical leader, you will promote best practice, support service improvement, and contribute to the ongoing development of the ward and wider service.
If you are committed to delivering outstanding care and are ready to take the next step in your nursing career, we would love to hear from you.
As Deputy Ward Sister, you will support the leadership and day-to-day management of the ward, regularly taking charge and ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.
You will act as a professional role model, providing clinical leadership, supporting staff development, and contributing to both clinical and non-clinical governance initiatives.
Working closely with the Ward Sister and multidisciplinary team, you will help maintain and improve care standards, drive service development, and promote evidence-based practice to achieve the best outcomes for patients.
We are an award-winning NHS Foundation Trust working alongside health and social care colleagues across the county to provide acute and community healthcare services to more than 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.
We put the patient at the heart of everything that we do and it is our aim to make sure that every patient is treated as we would want a member of our own family to be treated. At the same time, we expect our staff to be caring, kind and courteous to each other and to look out for each other. We believe that we are truly a clinically-led organisation.
We are proud that our Trust colleagues have voted us the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands for seven years running in the National NHS Staff Survey, while the Care Quality Commission has rated our Trust as 'outstanding' for care and our King's Mill Hospital as the only 'outstanding' NHS-run hospital in the East Midlands.
